Week 13, First Visit With Gynecologist

Well with just the occasional feeling of morning sickness, and the tiredness fading it’s sometimes feels like I am not pregnant at all. So a trip to the Gyne was a bit of a reminder. Every month I have a visit with the Gynecologist, in the UK this may be with a Doctor or local midwife. I think because I see a Gynecologist I get a more thorough examination.

So the Dr is running about 20 minutes late, but the waiting are is quite and comfy. Hubby is with me and will be all the way. We meet the Doctor who is lovely we go through the healthcheck, which is all fine. He gives me my due date which is end of August, we are hoping the bebe slips in and will be a Leo just like me! It seems however he may slip into being a Virgo.

Anyway i am then asked to go into the other room and have to strip off my bottoms. i am then given an internal exam, checks my weight & blood pressure and am done. He then books each appointment with me up to end of July. My 2nd trimester scan (about 20 weeks) and 3rd trimester scan (about 32 weeks) are booked. They cannot fit me into the Hospital, so they pay for me to go to the private scan clinic around the corner which will be interesting.

I am told at 6 months I get 2 antenatal classes, as well as a trip around the hospital. I will get a one on one meeting with the midwife to talk over any concerns I may have. Here in France i get postnatal in the hospital so expect to be in for around 4 days after the birth. I plan to have my own double room and ensuite, the nice thing is here in France they encourage your partner (hubby for me) to stay aswell for the first 24 hours after birth.
