Nature Trails…
Posted: 3/30/09Looking for a cheap day out, why not take your kids to a local forest and go on a nature trail.
So how do you plan a trail? Well find a local forest or walking route perhaps see what your The National Trust recommend. Then pick your season and think of things you may find en-route. So for spring these may include:
Bluebells
Daffodil
Snowdrops
Tulips
Rabbit
Rabbit Hole
Sheep
Lamb
Cow
Calf
Blue tit
Collared dove
Mallard
Black Bird
Robin
Song thrush
Sparrow
Woodpigeon
Woodpecker
to name a few…
Then take a sheet of A4 paper and create 2 columns, on the left column write all the items you can think of and leave a few boxes for things you find on your way. Then clip this onto a clip board. Buy some stickers, and everytime your kids see one of the things on your list they put a sticker next to it (in the right column)
A great way to get your kids out and about this spring!
